Hannah Holman

Founder and Artistic Director

 

Hannah Holman joined the New York City Ballet Orchestra at the beginning of the 2012-2013 season. Her career has encompassed orchestral and chamber music, solo performances, and teaching. In addition to her work with the New York City Ballet Orchestra, Ms. Holman is the principal cellist of the Quad City Symphony, a position she has held since 2008. Founder and Artistic Director of the Deanery School of Music, she is dedicated teacher who finds great fulfillment in helping students of all ages grow. Ms. Holman was on the University of Iowa music faculty from 2002-2012, and has served on the faculties of the Worcester College (UK), Michigan State University Community School, and Virginia Union University. She has participated in numerous festivals, and has been on the faculty of the Eastern Music Festival since 2001 and currently serves on the faculty of the International Cello Institute.

Lynne Stukart is an Award-winning flutist, highly respected Educator, and an Altus Flutes Performing Artist & Teacher.  Lynne received her Master’s degree in Music Performance, with an additional emphasis in Music History, from the University of Akron, where she was the Graduate Teaching Assistant to esteemed flutist, George Pope. Lynne holds two Bachelor’s degrees; one in Music and the second in Business, graduating with honors.

Praised for her "gorgeous sound and exquisite musicality," Lynne has performed throughout the United States as well as in Europe. She has been a winner in several competitions, including the prestigious National Flute Association Competitions.  She's been Principal Flute with the Akron Lyric Opera, Handel Oratorio Society, and has appeared with many orchestras, including the Akron Symphony Orchestra, Galesburg Symphony Orchestra, and the Quad City Symphony Orchestra. Lynne has studied with musicians of the Chicago Symphony, London Symphony, and the Cleveland Orchestra.  

Lynne is a motivational and dedicated teacher and has taught at various schools throughout the Midwest including The University of Akron and Augustana College. Many of Lynne’s students have been selected as winners in competitions throughout the country, including All-State Honors, and invited performances at Severance Hall in Cleveland and Carnegie Hall in New York City. In addition to running a successful flute studio, Lynne is in high demand as an adjudicator and clinician, known for her enthusiastic and positive approach. She is passionate about leading musicians of all ages and abilities to discover their personal best through excellent instruction, coaching and compassion. She's a Quad Cities native and is honored to be a part of The Deanery Team.
