Organizational Meeting for String Players: Tuesday, Nov. 4, 7-9 PM
We Need You
The Deanery School of Music and its Director, Gates Thomas, are organizing a community orchestra for amateur musicians in the Greater Quad-City Metro Area. We are seeking violin, viola, cello, and double bass players, age 18 or older, who are willing to attend regular rehearsals.
There will be an organizational meeting for string players on Tuesday evening, November 4, 2025, 7-9 PM, in the Great Hall at 121 W. 12th Street, Davenport.
​To indicate your interest, please fill out this short questionnaire which tells us about your playing experience. The information about your musical background will help us choose appropriate repertoire.
We will populate the string section first, and organize other sections of the orchestra when we have a fully-formed string section.
Did you play violin, viola, cello, or bass in the past — in high school, perhaps — before having to give it up?
